To the Digital Signage Expo!
If you are not already totally psyched up about the Digital Signage Expo (what’s wrong with you?) just fire up your iTunes and your MP3 Player and when your five billion hour long flight takes off play the song Jet Airliner by Steve Miller Band. This should help you get you in the ultimate tradeshow mood!
And if that doesn’t get you in the Digital Signage mood, well I will tell you a few things that I am personally excited about to help you out.
As you can probably tell by our forum, we love interactive Digital Signage customer service action. We can’t wait to try out the BTV+ “Ask Clive” which is a Live 2-Way Virtual Customer Service application! Plus one of our very famous and very special forum members, Rich Perry (who is the Director, US Sales at BTV+), said that when you visit the booth, please let him know you are a member of the Digital Signage Forum. Ok, so rumor has it….there are some awesome Ipod giveaways happening Rich?
Soo… between “Ask Clive, Rich Perry and free Ipods, this is #1 don’t miss out on. Visit them in booth #1114 and tell them the Digital Signage Forum sent you!
What else am I excited about?
Well, we kind of have a love affair over here at the DSF with flat screen plasma TV’s and LCD monitors so if you “ooh and ahh” over them like we do, the LG commercial booth will be a must see! And in case you didn’t know this, LG owns their factory, not just the name on the front of the display. Sooo…no re-badge here guys!
Plus, with several models of (LCD’s up to 42 inches and plasmas up to 71 inches) I am looking for the perfect screen that has the best picture quality that will be so beautiful it will make me cry and yes, (I have been known to cry at tradeshows). So if you are looking for great screens for Digital Signage head on over to their booth and meet the nice people over at LG commercial… then you can cry for Digital Signage plasma TV joy too!
Speaking of super nice people, Alex Ping Wang, Hong Wang and Jimmy Dunn of Dynasign are the life of the party on the DSF (also long time supporters and sponsors of the Digital Signage Forum). What they have brought to the Digital Signage dinner table has been absolutely phenomenal customer service that has a proven track record with end-users who visit us and use there software solutions and services. We had the privilege and the pleasure of reviewing their digital signage solution a few months ago and not only do they call out some pretty handy and powerful specs on what they are implementing, they actually deliver!”
Read the full review and visit them in booth #1015.
If Dynasign’s booth isn’t hot enough guess what?
You will also be able to see BlueFire Digital’s bluetooth technology system that is impacting the Digital Signage industry to communicate directly with customers when they are in front of the signage via their cell phones. This is like a virtual sales person that follows up with the customer during and after the retail store visit by sending messages, promotions and giveaways to the visitor’s cell phone. It also allows the visitor to request more information about a product or service to friends and family members.
I think this is the one of the best solutions to a quicker ROI in retail Digital Signage that I have ever experienced. When you marry Dynasign software solutions with Bluefire Digital’s bluetooth technology solutions it is bound to be a winner!
You will also be ablle to see Bluefire Digital wireless bluetooth technology in booth #1015.
My Digital Signage Expo Hot Booth Predictions:
And (no I do not know how great these booths will be) that is why it is called a prediction!
Not in any particular order
#1 Magenta Research also has a fondness for show stopping hi-definition factor. So I am hoping to see there Mondo Matrix Distribution System which was featured in a case study last month that had video walls consisting of 3-by-3 and 2-by-2 display matrixes and incredibly bright and clear high resolution images. Yep, I want to see some of that!
#2 Planar Systems (speaking of multi screen configurations) I am looking forward to hearing more about what is happening with CoolSign software. Again, this is another large screen multi-configurable possibility (not to mention bandwidth monitoring) potential sighting.
#3 Matrox has a solution called Triplehead2go. This is really interesting to me because I am a Windows Vista user and they say they have support for Windows Vista with their dual-link digital-in and triple digital-out solution. Hopefully, this is on display and I can talk to Michael Arnett and Joey Farruggia about how the support works ( I think support and compliance for Windows Vista) is critical right now and probably many end-users feel the same way.
#4 Omnivex Corporation Ok, so it is another Microsoft thing for me but Omnivex received Gold Certified Partner Status in the Microsoft® Partner Program and I think many companies will want to truly understand how they did that.
#5 D&M Professional C’mon its Denon Marantz! They have a Digital Signage Player plus they have a core competency in the A/V market and guess what? A/V dealers do install Digital Signage! It is a no brainer that this will be a wild and crazy busy booth.
So touch down in windy city town…feel the Digital Signage heat coming down…Big Ole Jet Airliner… because it’s here that we’ve got to stay- for a few days anyways!
It will be a fabulous show, so bring your comfortable shoes, don’t forget your business cards, breath mints and have a great time at the Digital Signage Expo at Navy Pier in Chicago May 16th and 17th. We can’t wait to see you there!
